The photos at the right side show the piece in Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam (1&2), the installation in the Kazemates in Belgrade (3&4) and the bags before, during and after use. The last pictures are the making of the Color Bar.

Recycling thin plastic bags from Belgrade.
I've been weaving the piece Color Bar during 5 days at the BELEF festival.  While working with these colorful bags in public space, in the park near the Military museum, I had many conversations with people passing by. Often helped with translations from the Serbian assistants, we talked about plastic in the broadest sense of the word: from plastic polluting the environment till commercial television in public space. The interaction with the audience was part of the piece at the festival.

I have been collecting the Belgrade bags in summer 2005 and spring 2006 and took them to the Netherlands. Summer 2007 I returned them to Belgrade. Together with the bags the festival collected during some months, I made this piece. The Color Bar contains an estimated 800 bags. Since plastic takes 80 years to disintegrate, the piece will last approx. 80 years.

I was invited due to the residency Belgrade Correspondent at the REX in summer 2005.
