THERE

The opening of the exhibition THERE, the outcome of my artist-in-residence in the art space Makan in Amman, is on February 22 at 6.30 PM. The show lasts till March 5, 2009. Petersburg Project Space, Amsterdam Group show THERE, part 2, a follow-up of THERE in Makan in Amman, Jordan. THERE contains works from artists from the Middle East -whom I got to know during my residence in Amman- and myself. THERE opens April 25 in Petersburg Project Space from 8 PM till midnight, and lasts until May 16, 2009. De Service Garage, Amsterdam Group show Quantumvis 5. The show opens on June 27 and lasts till July 19, 2009. Polderlicht 2009, Amsterdam Group show with sound and light art in public space, the 5th and last edition. October 23 till 25, 2009. Some words on the piece in Dutch: HOUNEK , een lichtinstallatie van het Arabische woord voor DAAR. Onbereikbaar, ver, onaantastbaar staat het woord op het dak van de art space Makan House. In de context van de stad Amman en van mijn tentoonstelling aldaar refereert het woord DAAR aan Palestina. Groen licht is gebruikelijk in de openbare ruimte van de Arabische landen; groene TL-buizen sieren vaak de minaretten van moskeeën. Groen is immers de kleur van de islam.
